BOGOTA (AP) — Colombian pop star Shakira says after her latest album is born she plans to undertake a new labor: multiple children.
The 32-year-old Grammy winner known for her seductive dance moves says that she plans to focus on a family after October, which is when her as-yet-unnamed album is to be released.
Shakira spoke with the El Tiempo newspaper at her home in the Bahamas, where she says she goes barefoot all day. The newspaper published the interview on Thursday.
Shakira says she wants two kids, while boyfriend Antonio de la Rua would like three.

(Risas) Puede ser una de las causas, no lo había analizado. Esta canción surgió así de pronto en el estudio, en menos de cinco minutos empecé a escribir la letra. Me hice un rincón aparte de toda la gente que estaba ahí presente y cuando me lo imaginaba ya estaba aullando y jadeando (risas), y algunos de esos aullidos son los que aparecen en la versión final de esta canción. My choice for Hottie of the Week this week is Shakira. She is one of the most beautiful woman in the world, and one of the smallest. Some sites say she is only 4′9″. That is tiny! She broke onto the scene when she crossed over into English singing markets, but she has been really quiet on the music front lately. The last thing I saw from her was the song she did with Beyonce a few years ago. She is sexy and talented with an amazing voice.

ABU DHABI // Shakira, the Latin pop star, last night headlined a lavish New Year’s Eve party that many fans had feared would not come off.
Organisers of the party at the Emirates Palace hotel and people planning to attend it waited yesterday to learn whether Abu Dhabi’s celebrations would be cancelled because of the violence in Gaza, as they were in Dubai on the order of its Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid. They were not.
But Shakira’s show, to which the promoters had hoped to attract 10,000 fans, was not sold out.
The singer, whose father hails from Lebanon, referred to her Arab roots as she took the stage but did not mention the violence in the Palestinian territory.
“I’m the fruit of an Arab land, and I’m immensely proud of my Arab heritage,” she said. “I just wanted you to know that. I can’t think of a better place to spend New Year’s Eve.”

U.S. President-elect invited Colombian singer Shakira to perform in the White House on the day of his inauguration in January 2009, Peruvian newspaper El Comercio reported Tuesday.
According to the newspaper, the upcoming U.S. President invited the star.
Shakira endorsed Obama's candidacy before the election. "It's an honor to receive so much support from someone that talented and a person that generous," Obama said about Shakira.

NEW YORK – Shakira revealed Wednesday that she is, in fact, expecting. But it's not what you may think.
"I'm quite pregnant with my album," the Colombian pop star told a reporter by phone — between laughs — when asked whether her foundation work on behalf of Latin American children has made her want to become a mother.
"Yes, I have plans, but not yet," said Shakira, 31. "I'm pregnant with my songs. But someday, yes."
The singer-activist plans to ask about 20 Latin American presidents at a regional summit in El Salvador on Thursday to direct more resources to poor children and to put early childhood development at the top of their agendas. She will appear on behalf of ALAS (Latin America in Solidarity Action) Foundation, a nonprofit coalition she helped create.
Asked whether she plans to write a song about ALAS, translated as "Wings" in Spanish, the Grammy winner and United Nations goodwill ambassador said it's out of her hands.
